Web Development

After losing interest in it during high school, I never thought I would pursue a career in software/web development. When I went to college, I purposely chose not to major in it. But after trying my hand at some "non-creative" work post-college, I found myself looking back on my long-gone days spent coding as a kid. I decided to get back into it, without the luxury of a formal education. Now that it had been several years since I last typed a line of code, which equates to generations of changes in the programming world, I had to go through the daunting task of self-learning to bring myself up to date with modern development technologies. I read a lot of books, internet articles, and forums covering the latest web design trends and programming languages.

In 2005, I placed a bid for and was awarded a contract to redesign the City of Placentia's website, as well as its law-enforcing sister-site Placentia PD. From that experience I was able to gain further employment as a web developer. Fast forward to the present and I now have several years of working on web applications and web design under my belt. I'm constantly learning new technologies every day, which is just the nature of the industry.

My current obsession is with Drupal. I love Drupal's open and modular design, in addition to its large and active community of developers and users. Combine that with its extensibility and it's easy to see why Drupal is heads and shoulders above any other CMS out there. I now recommend Drupal to all of my clients, and most of the websites in my portfolio are powered by Drupal.
